Duda Melzer: Wildly Successful Brazilian Businessman

Eduardo Sirotsky Melzer is president and chairman of the Brazil based company Grupo RBS. He also owns one of Brazil’s largest multimedia communications companies and business conglomerates RBS. Duda Melzer, as he is commonly called, is also the chairman of e.Bricks Digital as well as a shareholder in the private equity and venture capital firm e.Bricks Ventures. The company has operations both in Brazil and abroad.

According to Pauliceiadojazz, Duda Melzer has a very strong business background. He’s a graduate of Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul where he earned a business administration degree in 1998. Melzer also got his MBA from Harvard University in 2002. He first became involved in business by working in the franchising and financial markets in Brazil with the multinational company Sweet Sweet Way. He worked his way up through the company until he earned the designation Master Franchiser. He also worked on projects with Booz Allen & Hamilton, a consulting firm. Meltzer was also a senior analyst for the U.S. based Delphi Corporation and the CEO of the New York media company Box Top Media. Check out Odiario for more details.

In 2004 Duda Melzer was hired as the CEO for domestic markets at Grupo RBS. In 2008, he became the company’s market and business development vice president. Melzer also attended two programs at Harvard Business School in 2008 that played an important role in his career. They were Building and Leading Customer Centric Organizations and Effective Strategies for Media Companies. In 2009, he became a Board of Ethics of the National Council for Advertising Self-Regulation member and a member of the Executive Council of the Standard Norms. In 2010 he was promoted to Grupo RBS executive vice president. He became Grupo RBS executive chairman two years later. Eduardo Sirotsky Melzer was also named CEO of the company later that year.
