Doe Deere-Inspiration to Be You

Doe Deere was born in and grew up in Russia. When she was 17 years old, Deere moved to the United States. She spent her formative years in not only Russia, but in New York City and now lives in Los Angeles. Deere considers herself to be a pretty ambitious and imaginative person and her biggest dream was to become a musician, which is why she originally moved to New York in the first place.

As a musician, Deere learned about career and marketing and it has taught her to appreciate peoples’ support of her. Deere started her first business in Russia when she was just thirteen years old, selling temporary tattoos.

Deere lived in New York since she was seventeen from 1998 to 2012. Deere lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Deere met her future husband when they were in a band together and they are both creative songwriters. They learned to work well together and are good business partners.

Deere believes it is very important to follow what is in your heart and that each person has something special about them. She also believe that when you are aware of that, you can really flourish and reach your potential. Lime Crime makeup was born because a lot of other people felt the same way that she did and that they were craving the same type of unique products that she was creating.

Doe Deere has always been drawn to bright, vibrant, and unique colors in makeup, but there really were not any on the market back in 2008. The makeup manufacturers and retailers were only creating and selling more natural-looking and neutral products. So Deere decided to make her own bright colored makeup and to her surprise, there was quite a demand for her trendy products. That is a big reason why the Lime Crime company really took off and was profitable.

To Deere, expressive makeup makes her feel like she has the freedom to really express herself and to stand out. It’s a real freedom to be expressive without being judged. Deere has come from a fashion background and she attended FIT in New York where she majored in fashion design. To Deere, makeup, fashion, and even hair go hand-in-hand together. What we put on our bodies, what we put on our faces and how we do our hair are all ways that we can really express ourselves.
